Dosing Furnace

 The dosing furnace id a sealed holding furnace without crucible, which used for die casing.The holding chamber is heated by silicon rod.

The shell of dosing furnace is made of section steel and plate. The furnace body is sealed, working under pressure.
The dosing furnace is controlled by the multi-furnace electronic control system, accurately dosing. The AI could be feeding dosing operation. Dosing quantity range is from 0.3kg~100kg, tolerance is ±1.5%.

Dosing furnace carries out the metering by pressure and time, the liquid level of AI id displayed by indicator lights and touch screen on the control cabinet.

Silcarb Heat Treatment Furnaces equipped with SiC rod heating can be used in the production of technical ceramics, especially for sintering at working temperatures up to 1550 °C. The WHTC product line with especially robust design can hold heavy charges including kiln furniture. Silcarb:- The Reverberatory Furnace

The copper that arrived in the smelter was anywhere from 70 to 90 percent pure. Due to the unique nature of Lake Superior copper, most of those impurities manifested themselves as pieces of foreign rock embedded within the copper itself. As a result, Copper Country smelters – including the Quincy Smelting Works – utilized a rather uncomplicated procedure to purify their copper wares. A process that essentially boiled down to melting the copper and skimming off its impurities. The central piece of equipment used during this process was the reverberatory furnace.


A reverberatory furnace consisted of a large brick-lined pot – known as a hearth – in which the copper was melted down to a liquid. This was done not with direct heat, but with reflected – or reverberated – heat emanating from an adjacent firebox. The natural draft created by the furnace’s chimney would pull the hot gases from the firebox up across the specially curved top of the hearth before being pulled up the flue. Along the way those hot gasses would reverberate off the roof and bounce down into the copper filled hearth – slowly melting it.

While rather simple in its aggregate, the actually reverberatory process actually involved several procedures and nearly a full day before copper could be poured into waiting ingots. The first of these steps was to load the copper into the furnace in a process known as “charging”.


During the charging process the furnace’s firebox is doused and its doors and top are opened. While copper could have been loaded into the furnace from any of these side doors, most of the mineral was loaded from the top – thanks to the furnace’s removable top. The furnace is first filled with the smaller pieces of copper to create a carpet of mineral along the furnace’s bottom. Then the larger pieces – mass copper – are placed on top of that copper carpet. After the furnace reaches is maximum load – about 36,000 pounds – its top is dropped back in place and all the doors are closed.


With the furnace charged it was now time to ignite the firebox and beginning the heating process. A layer of coal was placed in the firebox atop a metal grate spanning across the ash pit and lit on fire. The fire is fed by air drafting up through the open ash pit, air that is forced through the grate and directly across the hot coals before its drafted over to the hearth and up the flue.

After a few hours in the furnace, the copper and rock will begin to melt and the next step of the process can commence. Due to the differences in density between copper and the rock that surrounds it, the molten contents of the hearth began to separate naturally into two distinct layers. At the bottom is the copper itself – known as the matte – while floating on top forms a layer of molten rock known as slag. Once formed, this slag would be skimmed off the top of the copper and removed through the furnace door. Skimming would continue for another 12-15 hours until all the remaining copper is thoroughly melted and all the slag that forms is removed.

The working principle of a silcarb muffle furnace which is also known as a retort furnace is to heat the air inside its chamber using the basic fundamentals of thermal convection and thermal radiation. The name muffle furnace is derived from the fact that the internal ceramic chamber of the furnace which is also known as muffle is wrapped up in vast layers of insulation so as to prevent heat loss and achieve high temperatures. The high temperatures inside a muffle furnace attained by utilizing heating properties of Nichrome (nickel-chromium) wires which are called electrically operated heating elements. The temperature regulation in a furnace is highly dependent on the efficiency of the electronic controller unit, although best results can only be obtained by applying PID controlled units, PID stands for the proportional integral derivative controller.
The laboratory muffle furnaces are not equipped with the sophisticated cooling system as it is mostly not required. Most of the time a simple fan based exhaust system is installed and cooling is performed by this simple fan system supported by a chimney that too if desired in special cases. The main utility of this furnace exhaust system is to take out the toxic gases from the inner chamber which comes out during heating of the testing material/specimen inside the chamber. Hence the chamber gets sanitized of any toxic gases which may have evolved during the heating of material inside the lab muffle furnace.

The muffle furnace is used when a controlled atmosphere is desired to prevent oxidation during heat treatment at high temperatures.

Our dosing furnace Silcarb is a system which can dose liquid aluminium to be transported to the die casting for a much more precise, high-quality final product.

Operation
The liquid aluminium is loaded into the dosing furnace through the filling cone placed on top of the furnace. Molten metal is kept in temperature through heating resistors in silicon carbide.

The main advantage of this furnace is the use of completely uncontaminated liquid aluminium, which is drawn from the bottom of the bath, rather than from the bath surface where slags deposit.
According to the aluminium demand from the press, a pressure is generated inside the chamber that allows for the necessary aluminium quantity to ascend through the riser tube.
The riser tube, which is placed in front of the furnace, brings the aluminium directly to the press without any contamination, thus creating a high-quality final product

Structure
The furnace is equipped with a “lifting and tilting platform” which enables the machine to be adjusted for height in order to be used with any press.
This platform also makes it possible to tilt the furnace for easier maintenance and cleaning.
